One of the most beautiful cemeteries in the Boston area is Mount Auburn Cemetery and fortunately it is not too far from where we are living. I’ve actually been twice since we’ve been here. Once was a rather foggy rainy day and the other was bright and sunny. Both times it was beautiful and fun to explore.

One of the things Laura recommended we do while in Boston was visit the Longfellow house. It looked like a pretty house from the outside but I didn’t know much about it. So, I thought taking a tour would be a great idea. Turns out it was! This was one of my favorite tours that I’ve been on in Boston! Read more →

At the end of my walk down Newbury Street, I decided to walk around Boston Public Garden. This is definitely somewhere you should stop while in Boston. If you are walking along the Freedom Trail this will be part of the trail, but it is also worth going to even if you don’t. Boston Public Garden is a lake with a beautiful bridge surrounded by a lot of willow trees (and other trees), plus you can take a ride on a Swan Boat while you are there!  Read more →

As I mentioned yesterday, as part of my walk along Newbury Street I stopped at the new Georgetown Cupcake store per a friend’s recommendation. While their signature cupcake is Red Velvet (which is not at the top of my list of favorite cupcakes) I opted for two flavors that were more of a favorite. I got a chocolate hazelnut and chocolate3.  Read more →

Last week I decided to walk down Newbury Street in Boston. I thought it would be fun to see the shops and look in some galleries. It turns out I went a little too early for the galleries (most opened at 11 or 12) but I did get to do some shopping! I did see a decent amount of artwork in the windows of the galleries so that was fun too.  Read more →

About a week and a half ago we went to the Brimfield Antique Show which is one of the biggest antiques shows on the east coast. Kevin has recently become interested in the art of shaving. He’s been looking for antique razors and had a couple in mind that he wanted to purchase. One of the first days we were in Boston we went to different antique stores looking for them. There weren’t very many to be found, but one store recommended we go to the Brimfield Antique Show so we looked it up. Once we did, we were hooked!
