Last week I got to photograph another beautiful wedding cake made by Cassidy Budge. She is so talented! This cake was the first I’ve photographed where a florist did the flowers which was a little different. The cake was so beautiful! So this is a buttercream wedding cake and the inside was chocolate mint. Isn’t that a cool idea for a wedding cake? I sure haven’t heard of it before, not that I am an expert on wedding cakes. A couple days ago I was out in the “French Garden” at my parents house. I had noticed the poppies were looking really pretty and went out to photograph them. While I was photographing one I saw this bee going from flower to flower and decided to film it for a minute. I ended up filming it for about 10 minutes because it was so cool to watch. Don’t worry, I didn’t create a 10 minute video of the bee, just a 35 second one, but I wanted to show it to you along with the photos of the poppies. On Father’s Day we went to my grandparents for a visit. While we were there my grandpa pointed out some photo worthy elements of The Ranch (as we affectionately call their house), and asked if I would take some pictures for him. Naturally, I said yes! I thought I would share a tip with you that I used while photographing the cupcakes. I almost always shoot with natural light. It is much more flattering for food and it it just pretty! My typical set up is either next to a window or right on the edge of the shade if I’m outside. Read more →

While at Thanksgiving Point last week I photographed a lot of tulips. So, since they are pretty I thought I would post some of the images here. Everyday I think I told my mom I had a new favorite.
